NEW NAME, SAME COMMITMENT FOR EMPLOYMENT AND LEARNING – FARREN

The Minister for Employment and Learning, Dr Sean Farren, today said he was delighted with the approval of his Department’s new name which has just come into effect.

Minister Farren said: "I believe that the new title – Department for Employment and Learning - effectively and equably represents each of the key areas within my Department. This shorter title is much easier to say. More importantly the new title reflects the Department’s responsibilities for Lifelong Learning from post school level through further and higher education and all aspects of training in preparation for employment.

"With the new name, my Department will continue to deliver its range of services in a competent and professional manner and I am confident that our users will find the title more friendly."
