MINISTER VISITS FURTHER EDUCATION COLLEGE IN ARMAGH

Dr Sean Farren, Minister for Higher and Further Education, Training and Employment, today visited Armagh College of Further Education, continuing his programme of visits to further education colleges in Northern Ireland.

On his arrival at the College, he was welcomed by the Principal, Mr Paul Little. He met with members of the Board of Governors and discussed a range of current issues before touring the main campus of the College.

During his tour he met students in the college library, student common room, the adult basic education suite and computer suite. Dr Farren then moved to the Station Road campus visiting the construction and motor vehicle workshops and then to the Lisanally site to visit the health and beauty therapy suite.

Speaking afterwards, Dr Farren said that he had already visited a number of further education colleges in Northern Ireland and had found them to be very beneficial and constructive. "The visits have also given me the opportunity to hear at first hand, the current issues pertaining to further education."
