RE-APPOINTMENTS TO BOARD OF TRAINING & EMPLOYMENT AGENCY

Dr Sean Farren, the Minister for Higher and Further Education, Training & Employment, today announced the re-appointment of Ms Monica Wilson OBE and Mr Jim McKeown to the Board of the Training & Employment Agency for a further three year period.

Welcoming the re-appointments, Dr Farren said: "I am very pleased that both Ms Wilson and Mr McKeown have agreed to continue to serve as members of the Board of the Training & Employment Agency for a further period.<

"Both members have made a positive contribution to the work of the Board and I am sure they will continue to provide excellent service in the years ahead."

Both members have been re-appointed from 1 April 2001. Neither has carried out any political activity in the last five years.

NOTES TO EDITORS:

Board members of the Training and Employment Agency receive remuneration of £4,300 per annum. Ms Wilson and Mr McKeown were first appointed to the Board on 1 April 1998.

Ms Wilson is Chief Executive of Disability Action and Mr McKeown is a Trade Union official for the National Association of Teachers in Further and Higher Eucation (NATFHE).
